Julia’s deep love for coastal Maine is rooted in summers spent exploring the rocky shore and islands around her family’s home in Five Islands, Georgetown. Julia holds an undergraduate degree in History from Yale University and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University. She worked at some of the most sought-after firms in Massachusetts before relocating to Maine, where she is a licensed landscape architect. Her past projects include oceanfront and lakefront residences throughout New England, as well as urban residential projects in New York City, Boston, and Portland, Maine. Her passion lies in creating holistic landscape designs that meet the needs of clients, while deepening their connection to nature and the cultural context of the site. At Knickerbocker Group, Julia works together with our designers, construction team, and clients to develop beautiful landscapes that integrate client vision with ecological richness.
Julia has been a part of many award-winning projects and is on the board of the Wild Seed Project, which strives to bring awareness to the value of native plants in our communities. She lives in Freeport with her husband Kane, daughter Clementine, and their two dogs. She finds joy in spending time with her family, being in nature, and expanding her own garden with native plantings.
