ABOUT

Jacob Waltman

Construction Practice Leader

As Construction Practice Leader at Knickerbocker Group, Jacob oversees the construction department from the Boothbay office, providing leadership and support to project managers while ensuring effective project execution. With a deep understanding of design, Jacob excels at coordinating the intersection of design and construction—ensuring that aesthetic vision and functional performance align seamlessly. He also plays a key role in developing internal initiatives and establishing standard practices within the department. In addition, Jacob works closely with the sales and preconstruction teams to engage new clients and help set clear expectations throughout the construction process.

Originally from Maine, Jacob spent his childhood summers visiting job sites with his family’s design and construction business, which sparked a lifelong passion for building. He later earned a master’s degree in architectural history from the University of Copenhagen. After founding his own millwork company, Jacob moved to New York City where he managed high-end residential and commercial projects. Upon returning to Maine, he focused on commercial and institutional work, contributing to major projects including contracts with Bath Iron Works, facilities for the U.S. military, and the renovation of the state’s oldest opera house.
