MARKETING, BRANDING & GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Full-Time | Estimated Start: Immediate | Greater Portland and/or Boothbay Region

Knickerbocker Group is seeking an experienced, creative and thoughtful individual to join our team as a Marketing, Branding & Graphic Designer. This role is a collaborative position, working directly with our in-house marketing team, company directors and practice leaders.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Marketing & Branding

  • Collaborate with marketing team to finalize a comprehensive marketing and brand strategy consistent with the company’s overall strategic business goals
  • Prepare and implement strategic action items for continued growth of our market presence and brand awareness
  • Produce ideas for, coordinate and implement new and existing ad accounts, sponsorships, events, or other advertorial opportunities
  • Review and direct in-house documents for all departments (architecture, interior design, construction, and property management) to ensure Knickerbocker Group’s strategic vision is appropriately and consistently presented
  • Manage external accounts and relationships with media and marketing partnerships
  • Prepare booth exhibits and attend trade shows and sponsorship events
  • Attend community and professional networking events to enhance exposure of our brand and design services
  • Copywriting:
    • Compose content and manage timely and consistent distribution of internal and external company communication (e.g., newsletters, client portfolios and ‘how we work’ documents, website, social media accounts, brochures, press releases, etc.)
    • Interview clients, KG team and other contributors to completed projects to gather project details
    • Write project stories for website, social media accounts, magazine pitches and for publishing project story books
  • Professional photography / film coordination:
    • Manage photograph inventory and photographer & vendor contracts
    • Coordinate with photographers, manage photo shoot schedule and process
    • Coordinate with marketing, design and construction team on photo needs prior to scouting trips
    • Organize photograph scouting trips with marketing team, plan styling needs, and prepare a storyboard to set expectations for photo shoot
    • Style and attend shoots as KG artistic representative and assistant to photographer
    • Identify and implement opportunities for video content
  • Website:
    • Oversee the ongoing development of Knickerbocker Group’s customized WordPress website
    • Oversee the ongoing development of COVE by Knickerbocker Group’s customized Squarespace website
    • Work with marketing team to identify and prioritize needs and goals for an active, engaging website
    • Coordinate with website technician as required to implement WordPress development
    • Perform ongoing, consistent maintenance and updates of the website and other social media outlets
    • Implement and maintain a SEO strategy for mobile/desktop
  • Work with our design team to explore possibilities for designing, developing and branding Knickerbocker Group products (custom cabinetry and furniture, wood/stone products, lighting, etc.) for our COVE by Knickerbocker Group brand.

Graphic Design

  • Graphic design support for architects and interior designers
  • Prepare renderings, perspectives and other design graphics for project use (hand illustration as well as computer aided)
  • Assemble design finish boards

Required education, experience and technical knowledge:

  • Degree in a Marketing and/or Graphic Design field required
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in marketing, branding, and graphic design
  • Experience with the Architecture, Interior Design and/or Construction industry preferred
  • Adobe Creative Suite required
  • Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Sketch Up proficiency preferred
  • AutoCAD or REVIT proficiency a plus

RESIDENTIAL SUPERINTENDENT

Full-Time | Estimated Start: Immediate | Greater Portland and/or Boothbay Region

With offices in Boothbay and Portland, we are a group of inspired collaborators who contribute their diverse talents to the construction process. For the past four decades, we have been dedicated to bringing great care, detail and excitement to every aspect of our projects. Knickerbocker Group is seeking an experience, hard-working individual to join our team as a full-time Residential Superintendent. This person maintains direct daily contact with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and Knickerbocker Group staff.

Minimum job requirements

  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in high-end residential construction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required; knowledge of Microsoft Project preferred
  • Competent in interpreting construction drawings/ sketches/ shop drawings/ specifications/ product data
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Construction safety training – OSHA 10 hour

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain complete knowledge of all contract documents, subcontractor documents, drawings and specifications, shop drawings, schedules, and local codes. Provide documentation of field variations from contract documents and maintain on-the-job documentation to reflect these variations.
  • Hold regular coordination meetings to ensure that Subcontractors understand job schedules. Review manpower requirements and follow up for timely delivery of materials and work in place performance.
  • Coordinate work among various trades. Communicate six week look ahead schedules of work to associated trades. Ensure site cleanliness and organization is maintained.
  • Supervise and direct the work of the KG self-performing crew(s). Monitors production of all trades.
  • Proactively manage the quality of the installation(s) of all details and products.
  • Actively monitor the performance of work to assure good quality control, and make certain that work, as installed, conforms with all plans, specifications, and KG standards. Identify and communicate any/all deficient work to the appropriate parties.
  • Ensure Subcontractor compliance with safety codes and regulations. Enforce the overall safety program.
  • Ability to perform basic carpentry tasks or job specific operations as needed.
  • Prepare daily reports, photos, and time cards as required.
  • Perform material quantity calculations and/or project specific cost and schedule estimates in support of Project Manager as required.
  • Professional interaction with clients/customers on a daily/weekly basis- reviewing project progress, site specific details.
  • Proactive and collaborative interaction with KG staff members and vendors.
  • Cultivate and monitor vendor/subcontractor relationships so that project capacity(s) and quality workmanship can be maintained.
  • Profit & Loss responsibility as to cost control, budget awareness, labor productivity.
  • Perform detailed procurement of goods and services in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Provide oral and written communications to KG management and/or clientele regarding schedule and weekly client reports.

REVIT/AUTOCAD TECHNICIAN

Full-Time | Estimated Start: Immediate | Boothbay Office

Knickerbocker Group is seeking a creative and passionate individual to join our team in our Boothbay office as a full-time Revit/Autocad Technician.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Assisting project architects & lead designers on architectural projects to ensure that construction is in accordance with design specifications
  • Translating sketch ideas into CADD
  • Preparing technical, detailed architectural drawings for construction projects based on building specifications, calculations and sketches
  • Visiting construction sites to collect measurements and dimensions as needed
  • Producing and presenting materials and CADD documents
  • Converting hand drawn markups (redlines) into CADD
