At age 16, Derek began his career as a carpenter with frame to finish crews here in Maine. He has extensive wood working experience including cabinet shops in Fairfield County, Connecticut and furniture studios in Manhattan, New York. During the three years prior to joining the Knickerbocker team as a site manager, Derek worked as a subcontractor on a number of our projects. When he’s not on a job site he spends his time working around his small farm in New Gloucester with his wife and three boys.
