Lauren Kohlhoff Bio

After graduating from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, with a bachelor’s in urban studies, Lauren returned to her native state of Texas to pursue a master’s degree in architecture (M.Arch 1) at the University of Texas at Austin. After finishing her graduate program, Lauren found her way back to Maine where she had spent summers visiting family and working in Boothbay Harbor. She spent the next decade working at a small, award-winning design firm in Kittery. There she focused on residential projects, including a net-zero home, as well as commercial non-profit projects centered on sustainable animal care, which combined her love of architecture with her love for animals.

In the summer, Lauren enjoys sailing, hiking, camping, and mountain biking, and in the colder months, she can be found skiing, snowshoeing, and spending time in the mountains as she slowly but surely adapts to Maine winters. On all of her outdoor adventures, she almost always brings along her Old English Sheepdog, Boomer.
