Susan Mendleson bio

Sue’s favorite quality of Knickerbocker Group is the unique but consistently collaborative nature of her projects. Everyone from client to tradesperson acts as a team throughout the process ensuring the best results while bringing a client’s ideas to life.

Sue began the “rebirth” of our design department in April 2004, bringing 15 years of experience at architectural firms from Seattle, Washington and Camden, Maine. She is an architectural graduate of MIT with a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington with minors in planning and real estate development.

She is responsible for all facets of a project from concepts through construction primarily for custom waterfront homes (of all sizes & budgets). Her experience also includes historic renovations, community and religious facilities, inns, and many variations of barns from artist studios to working equine facilities. Her own barn-style home was featured in Maine Home+Design. Read about it here.

Sue and her husband, Todd, live in Washington, Maine and have a passion for Newfoundland dogs. She is a member of several dog clubs and most enjoys participating in the working events (water rescue and carting) for which Newfs are known.
