Sue began the “rebirth” of our design department in April 2004, bringing 15 years of experience at architectural firms in Seattle and Camden. She appreciated the craftsmanship of Knickerbocker Group from earlier projects she developed and was pleased to become an integral part of the design-build collaborative.
She is responsible for all aspects from concepts through construction including code review, design, specifications and construction administration for primarily custom waterfront homes (of all sizes & budgets). Her experience also includes historic renovations, community & religious facilities, inns and many variations of barns from artist studios to working equine facilities. Her barn-like home was featured in Maine Home + Design. In the realm of “rebirth”, Sue designed the new Knickerbocker Group offices after a fire in the former design, showroom and shop space. She is an architectural graduate of MIT with a Masters of Architecture from the University of Washington with minors in Planning and Real Estate Development.
Sue is a native of Cape Cod and resides in Washington Maine with her husband Todd Bennett and Newfoundland dogs. She is a member of several dog clubs and participates in the working events (water rescue and carting) for which Newfs are known. Sue most enjoys the challenge of bringing a client’s ideas to life while assuring these ideas are buildable “to keep the guys in the field happy.”
