Valery’s passion for architecture began at an early age and her enthusiasm for good design is apparent in everything she does. She brings to Knickerbocker Group over sixteen years of residential and commercial architectural work experience with design/build and traditional architectural firms in the Washington DC area.

A native from Quebec City, Valery graduated from Laval University with a Bachelor Degree in Architecture. Following an internship in Panama, she earned a Master’s degree from the International Space University in Strasbourg, France and went on to work as a safety engineer at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston for three years. An opportunity with the French Space Agency took her to the Nation’s Capital where she later returned to architecture. She is licensed in Maine, Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland.

Valery feels at home in the Boothbay region where she has been coming since 2012 to escape the hectic city life. Her children, Ariane and Cedric, have become avid sailors through the local summer sailing programs. Along with her partner Ken Monroe, she has brought back to life a historic log home known as “Treetops” on the shores of Linekin Bay, and they are currently remodeling an old farmhouse on Hodgdon Island.

When she isn’t working or remodeling her home, Valery can be found outdoors, boating, skiing or hiking with her family and Hugo Boss… the dog.
