Greg Norton

Director of Design

With nearly 20 years of experience in the building industry, Greg Norton brings a dynamic and multidisciplinary background to his role as Director of Design at Knickerbocker Group. Originally trained as a civil engineer, Greg transitioned into architecture to pursue creative problem-solving through design—combining technical knowledge with an eye for detail and a collaborative approach.

As Director of Design, Greg leads Knickerbocker Group’s integrated Design Department, bringing together architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture under a unified structure. In this role, he supports collaboration across disciplines, strengthens the connection between design and construction, and helps guide projects from concept through completion. Greg is passionate about empowering designers, refining internal processes, and fostering strong client relationships rooted in trust, transparency, and thoughtful design.

Greg has also played an important role in advancing innovation within the firm, including contributing to the development of Knickerbocker Group’s prefabricated housing initiatives and introducing constructability reviews that strengthen coordination between design and construction teams.

Greg lives in his hometown of South Portland, Maine with his spouse, two daughters, their two cats, and a husky dog. He enjoys watching his daughters play sports, spending time at the beach or lake, disc golfing, drawing, and being a dad.

KG CULTURE, MISSION + VALUES

From day one, Greg has appreciated Knickerbocker Group’s commitment to its employees, not just based on being an ESOP but the effort taken to maintain the culture, built over 40 years of existence, into a company that has doubled in size within the past three years. Greg also appreciates the company’s local commitments to regional organizations, charities, and civic scenes.
