Debbie Hilscher, SHRM-CP

Director of People + Culture

Before moving to Boothbay Harbor, Debbie worked as a consultant developing and implementing healthcare information technology strategic plans. She earned a Bachelor’s degree at Clemson University and a Master of Public Health degree at Emory University.

As the director of people & culture, Debbie works closely with Knickerbocker Group’s executive team to ensure all HR efforts support the company’s strategic direction. When she joined in 2014, KG comprised of 30 employees! Being a 100+ team today, and as the company continues to grow, she is focused on continually improving an employee’s experience. Debbie is especially passionate about KG’s company culture. Through implementing an internal Communications Committee, she is proud of the work she has done to educate employees on what it means to be a 100% employee-owned firm. Debbie continues to cultivate a culture of company commitment and ownership. 

Having lived in the fast-paced city of Atlanta, Georgia for over 20 years, Debbie and her family moved to Boothbay Harbor to enjoy a quieter life. Whether it’s a lobster bake and yard games in the backyard, or hiking, biking, and camping in Acadia; Debbie loves to spend time with her friends and family enjoying all that Maine has to offer.
