Julien Jalbert Bio

Julien grew up in rural New Hampshire, with a father who is a self-taught architect and builder. His interest in design and construction was sparked at an early age, helping his dad with light wood framing, finish carpentry, and electrical work at his childhood home. After attending Northeastern University and receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in architecture, Julien took his knowledge of woodworking and new architectural education to pursue furniture building as a hobby, which he grew to love. After working in the field for a few years, he returned to Northeastern for his Master of Architecture degree, and has since obtained architectural licensing in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Julien’s past professional experience includes high-end restaurant, institutional (higher education), and high-end residential design. His true passion lies in residential design and construction, and he is very excited to be a part of the Knickerbocker Group team.

After living in the Boston area for 10+ years, Julien and his wife Sarah relocated to Barters Island in Boothbay before purchasing their home in South Portland.  They enjoy spending time with their two young sons and exploring all that the Maine coast has to offer.

He’s a board member of Architalx and a recipient of a 2019 AIA Maine Design Award for Stoneview Barn.
